Important: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time! If you arrive late we will NOT let you join a tour group that has already started training - Safety and complete training for all of our guests are our 1st priority.
Departure Location:
Tour departs from the rear parking lot at 757 Beach Street near the corner of Hyde Street.
Tour Re-routing and Weather:
The tour operator reserves the right to change the size of the tour to meet requests for that specific day. San Francisco is famous for the fog! Their tours run fog, rain or shine. It is recommended to wear multiple layers of warm clothing for any San Francisco activity. Summer afternoons can be in the 50's. Rain gear is available for those infrequent rainy days. Segways® are designed to run in any weather. If seasonal fog /weather obscures the view, tour routes may be altered. You will not be charged if the tour operator cancels a tour.
All customers will be required to review and sign our tour agreement and liability waiver before starting their tour.
Training Session and Bike Lane Route Info:
Riding a Segways® is similar to riding a bike - it's intuitive but nobody is born knowing how to operate it. That's why you will have 35 -45 minutes of training so you can get familiar with the most innovative transportation device of the new millennium! You will practice on the Segway® until everyone feels comfortable and ready to tour San Francisco! During the busy Summer season training time may be slightly longer.
The training session provides first-time riders with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to safely operate the Segway. You’ll be guided through a simulated obstacle course of cones, turns, and an emergency stop to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.
Training includes:
- Hands-on training with an instructor
- Introductory video
- Test ride and skills review
- Rider courtesy instruction
- Review of the rules of the road
Our routes in San Francisco are mainly on designated bike lanes. These bike lanes are adjacent to city streets. In some places the bike lane is the full width of the city street. We are in a busy big city and will be in some high traffic areas. San Francisco has more bike lanes per square mile than any other US city. Unlike Segway tours in other US cities we cannot operate the tours on the sidewalk. Each has a radio so the guide can advise you to upcoming changes in the route. Similar to a bike ride you will to be aware of your surroundings and traffic.

There are frequent stops for pictures along the San Francisco waterfront
Parking - There are many paid parking lots and garages within a few blocks of the departure point. On-street metered parking is very limited. The F-Line Historic Street Cars and both MUNI Cable Cars lines all transport visitors to the Wharf.
Requirements:
Riders must:
- Be aged of 12 years and older
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian
- Be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segways® without assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without any assistance or use of a handrail
- Rider must be able to operate the steering control with his or her left hand
- Weigh between 100 and 250 pounds (36 to 113 kilos)
- Wear the helmet and reflective vest that is provided with the tour
- Sign a liability waiver and provide credit card for damage deposit
- Complete the Segway rider training and test ride.
- Respect road signs, pedestrians, bikes and cars for a safe enjoyable ride.
