"I think the most valuable parts of the field trip were the stations on the boat. I especially liked the station where the students got water samples and determined the salinity of it. I also enjoyed the station where the students got water samples and looked at plankton. I really enjoyed those two activities because the students got the samples and looked at them right away. It was very meaningful and taught them concepts I could not replicate in class the same way. I mean, I could get water samples and have them examine them, but it's not the same as having them complete the whole process themselves."
